The original Porsche Piwis Tester III is the third generation of Porsche's professional tester, the most powerful diagnostic and programming tool.

Porsche Piwis 3 covers all old and new cars up to 2024. It supports comprehensive diagnostic capabilities, offline wiring diagrams, and coding developer mode.


Porsche Piwis 3 main features

It is used to communicate with the control unit. You can search, identify, code and control program units, read out the event memory, execute complex procedures, change drive links and execute routines.


Boot Fault Finding (GFF)

Test plan that generates fault code. This test plan shows the best order in which to perform tests. GFF has compiled a list of recommended tests, documentation and wiring diagrams


Driver link/test function

Displays the drive links of the control units, allowing you to change the parameters of these drive links and run test routines for the individual control units


Maintenance/Repair Functional Group

Use this function to call control unit-specific procedures that cannot be generally achieved from ODX data


Record

Use this function to activate diagnostics, guided fault finding (GFF) and logging of measuring device applications. Can create temporary and permanent work logs


filter

Use this function to limit the field of view of the control unit installed in the vehicle. In the Diagnostics application you can create, edit, activate, deactivate or assign filters


Online (PPN) Programming Services

Actual value/input signal

Display of actual values and input signals of the control unit


Coding/Programming Functional Group

Use this function to write encoded values. Values can be automatically encoded or set manually. This feature group includes (auto-encoding, manual encoding, customer-specific settings and factory settings) encoding modes


Wiring Diagram Application

The application represents the physical connections and layout of an electrical circuit

After seeing the explosion of people that purchased this tool, I felt we needed a thread where people could go to get specific programming help, and not wade through posts on how to create a VM tester or where to buy a tester. So please keep this tread for programming help. First of all, a PIWIS II and a Piwis III do the same things, only the three can do newer cars, 2018 and on, where as the two is limited to the 2017 and earlier models. The III is easier to use but is more technically challenging to clone since it seeks a signal from Porsche to authorize the VCI (the thing you plug into the car’s diagnostic port) The Chinese who sell the clones, created their own server to clone and send out those signals, then modified the VCI firmware to look for the Chinese signal instead of the Porsche signal.
