How to Connect the PIWIS3 VCI Wirelessly

Connecting the PIWIS3 Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) wirelessly is a straightforward process that allows for efficient diagnostics and programming of vehicles.

Step 1: Connect the VCI to the Vehicle

The first step in the connection process is to ensure that the VCI is properly connected to the vehicle. Locate the OBD-II port in the vehicle, which is typically found beneath the dashboard near the driver's seat. Once you have identified the port, plug the VCI into it securely. Additionally, make sure that the VCI is powered on. This may involve connecting it to the vehicle's ignition or ensuring that it has sufficient battery charge.

 Step 2: Access the Laptop’s Wi-Fi Settings

After the VCI is connected to the vehicle and powered on, you need to access your laptop's Wi-Fi settings. Open the Wi-Fi list on your laptop by clicking on the wireless network icon typically located in the system tray at the bottom right corner of your screen. This will display a list of available networks.

Step 3: Identify the VCI Wireless Network

In the list of available Wi-Fi networks, look for the network that corresponds to your VCI. The wireless name (SSID) of the VCI will be its serial number. This unique identifier allows you to differentiate it from other networks in your vicinity. Select the VCI network to initiate the connection process.

Step 4: Enter the Wi-Fi Password

To establish a secure connection, you will be prompted to enter a password. The default password for the VCI wireless connection is **12345678**. Carefully type this password into the appropriate field and confirm your entry. Once you have input the password correctly, your laptop will attempt to connect to the VCI wireless network.

Step 5: Confirm the Connection

After entering the password, your laptop should successfully connect to the VCI wireless network. You can confirm the connection by checking the Wi-Fi icon on your laptop; it should indicate that you are connected to the VCI network. At this point, you are ready to begin using the PIWIS3 software for diagnostics and programming.
